Storing more than ever before! Our new storage depot at the Ilsenburg site.

25.04.2019 Creating space intelligently/ After ten months of construction, from March to December 2018, our new storage depot went live in early 2019: it is annexed directly onto the production hall for our HP PageWide T1100S, the world’s most modern digital pre-print facility.

The new storage depot in numbers: Approx. 1,900 m² of floor space and additional storage capacity for 900 webs: in all, our Ilsenburg location has space for approx. 1,600 webs. Roughly €1.5 mn in investment flowed into the new depot.

Foundation for a new warehousing concept
With the new building completed, we could finally eliminate our outside depot, which further reduced warehousing costs and laid the foundation for an internal restructuring of our storage concept. As an example, special pre-prep spaces have now been established for materials related to upcoming jobs.

Optimised materials flow
Shorter paths, better time management, greater flexibility: the saved space and deeper inventory possibilities have a positive impact along the entire production chain, and directly benefit our customers.

Greater flexibility. Greater freedom.
Standard papers in reserve: shorter reaction times and flexibility in job scheduling can be achieved through the warehousing of a selection of standard papers.

Heavyweights that are light as a feather — on rails.
Special transport technology integrated directly into the hall: a Patras rail system for stock delivery to and from our digital printing machines, including an unpacking station, transports the paper webs — which can weigh up to three tonnes — reliably to their intended destination.

In the future, even more directly.
Two gates for a better workflow: in the future, delivery to and from the warehouse can be handled using different gates. This brings added efficiency to this part of the process chain.
