vocatium Harz 2019. Christiansen Print at the trainee recruiting days in Ilsenburg.

08.04.2019 vocatium Harz on 5 April 2019 at the Harzlandhalle Ilsenburg: Christiansen Print attended its third regional trainee recruitment fair as an exhibitor. The stand proved highly popular with visitors: many youths had heard about our company directly from friends and family. 14 students made appointments in advance, seven each for the two technical job profiles that we offer. Print Media Technologist and Mechatronics Specialist (m/f/x).

Sascha Vorlop – Production Manager at the Ilsenburg location and an instructor in the field of print media technologists, Kathrin Daniel – Human Resources–  and Miklas Dietz – Print Media Technologist – as well as Patrick Mählis – Director of Field Maintenance – enjoyed a range of fascinating conversations with future school graduates. We were especially interested to hear from female students interested in learning more about the field of mechatronics. They came very well prepared to the discussions — hardly a given nowadays — with concrete questions about the trainee program at Christiansen Print.

Of particular interest for the potential media technologists and mechatronics specialists: the three very different pre-print technologies at work in the company — flexo, belt and digital printing — are addressed at vocational school but can be experienced up-close and personal by our trainees. Ilsenburg and Northeim, our two corporate locations, feature all three technologies as part of the world's largest, most modern installation – a constellation found nowhere else. It makes for a notably varied apprenticeship, and by the end of their training period our young technicians can look forward to a broad and well-grounded set of practical skills.

Our summary of vocatium Harz 2019: Several of the students with whom we met intend to apply with us for an internship or holiday work position, giving them the chance to explore directly whether the field is right for them. Youths who have already completed an internship and visited us at the stand were interested in beginning their training at Christiansen Print.

Our hope for the next vocatium Harz would be more active support for the students on their part of parents and the schools, because these events work best for all involved when the visitors are well informed and prepared about the potential career choices ahead of them.
