Print quality

Demonstrably outstanding: Christiansen Print executes printing projects efficiently, cost-effectively and to the very highest standards of quality. We guarantee quality checks at all stages of production in flexo and digital printing alike, to ensure seamless documentation and the traceability of all printed results.
A fully digital cloud-based process management also supports the workflow. It connects repro houses and our clients’ in-house printing and CAD experts with Christiansen’s project preparations as part of the order process. This ensures transparent, automated processes for plate ordering and approval: 100 % documentation and error reduction, combined with reliability of delivery and processes. And the company doesn’t only rely on the latest technology for consistently superb print quality: every Christiansen Print employee contributes to it with their quality awareness, their precise eye for detail and the care taken over every phase of the print project.

Digital PrePrint: first-class quality printing in vivid colours

HP scalable thermal inkjet technology, 183 m/min speed and 1,200 dpi resolution. Our HP PageWide T1100S digital printing system in Ilsenburg achieves excellent results with top-class colour printing quality that is in no way inferior to offset or flexo printing. Environmentally friendly water- and pigment-based inks are used. These meet the legal and industry-specific EU and US standards for food packaging.

The paper used also contributes to the print quality. Christiansen Print is certified with the FSC® seal of approval for sustainable paper management and almost exclusively uses FSC®-certified paper. A wide range of types of paper are used in digital printing. These include coated and uncoated substrate classes and types made from both recycled or primary fibres. Generally speaking, proofs are not needed. The press proof is made on original paper.

Grammages range from 80 to 400 g/m². This means that we can also print or refine solid board/solid cardboard directly up to a weight of 400 g/m².

Constant, top-class print quality in belt and CI flexo printing

Precision print images in continuous print lengths of up to 206 cm in CI printing, and even print lengths of up to 4,550 mm using belt technology. Flexo printing is also impressive in oversized formats, with superlative print quality and even colours. As such, it represents a real alternative to offset printing, which requires higher grammages by comparison (standard: 180 g/m²). As in digital printing, we also use a variety of high-quality FSC® paper in flexo printing.

Environmentally friendly ink range with superb printing properties. The range has been specially developed for water-based flexo printing. Some of the inks are based on natural resins. They offer outstanding print quality in terms of colour strength, abrasion resistance and viscosity, making them an environmentally friendly alternative to conventional inks.

Innovative anilox roll technology achieves significantly improved printing quality in CI flexo printing. "SteppedHex", the versatile new cell geometry, makes it possible to print “linework” and “screen” on coated paper with the same roller at once. This results in substantially better print quality in terms of the colour gradations thanks to a higher 460-l/cm resolution, plus minimised ink consumption and even colour transfer.

100 % inspection with real-time scanning ensures consistent printing quality. 100 % monitoring across all machines: additional quality assurance thanks to ongoing real-time scanning of the entire width and length of the print image panels. One line scan camera and two matrix cameras compare the reference image with the actual printed image. Colour deviations or paper errors are spotted immediately, thus preventing misprinting.
